The party starts for New Year's Eve in Las Vegas
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- It's New Year's Eve and the party is starting in Las Vegas, from the boulevard all the way downtown and off the Strip as well.
Crowds flowed in to the city all day Saturday as authorities prepared for massive crowds to ring in the new year Las Vegas style.
The LVCVA predicted 314,000 visitors to Las Vegas for the weekend, and hotels anticipated to reach 98 percent capacity.
The energy could be felt hours before midnight on the Strip as tourists filled up on drinks and spent the afternoon shopping and gambling.
"There's nowhere else on the planet like Vegas," one tourist told Action News.
Action News will begin New Year's Eve coverage at 11 and air the fireworks show live as the clock strikes midnight.
