Las Vegas Monorail offering locals discount on New Year's Eve
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The Las Vegas Monorail will be offering Nevada residents discounted rides on New Year's Eve.
Las Vegas Boulevard will be closed to vehicles, taxis and buses beginning in the early evening on Dec. 31 but the monorail will operate until 3 a.m.
Trains will arrive every few minutes at each of the seven stations.
To receive the local fare, Nevada residents must present valid Nevada picture ID at the Las Vegas Monorail customer service booths located at the MGM Grand (Star Lane entrance) and Sahara Monorail stations.
The customer services booths will be open on New Year's Eve from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Locals can purchase up to four single-ride tickets (two round trips) for $1 each per valid Nevada ID.
The seven stations are located at MGM Grand, Bally's/Paris Las Vegas, Flaming/Caesars Palace, Harrah's/Imperial Palace, Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas Hilton and Sahara Avenue.
