Woman hit by car dies, police arrest male driver
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Las Vegas Metropolitan Police confirm an injured woman, found laying in the road near Decatur Boulevard and Twain Avenue at about 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, has died.
The woman was hit by a truck that fled the scene.
LVMPD later located and arrested the man driving the car.
Police say the woman was the victim of a domestic dispute and are trying to determine if the man in the truck hit her on purpose or if she ran into the street fleeing from a violent encounter and was hit.
Witnesses say the truck with a man and the victim pulled into a restaurant parking lot near the intersection and were arguing, when the victim got out of the vehicle, ran into the street, and was hit by the speeding truck.
Metro fatal traffic detail is on scene as well as domestic violence officers.
Authorities are only confirming that a woman in her mid-thirties was found severely injured in the roadway and was transported to University Medical Center where she later died.
