North Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- One person was killed and another critically injured in a crash in North Las Vegas on Friday afternoon. A preliminary investigation showed the NV Energy truck ran a red light, causing the collision with a small car carrying three women.

The crash happened at about 12:40 p.m. near Centennial Parkway and Losee in North Las Vegas.

Two occupants of the small car, a 20-year-old and a 25-year-old, were taken to UMC Trauma in critical condition. The 20-year-old driver was pronounced dead at UMC.

A third occupant, also 20-years-old, suffered minor injuries.

The driver of the NV Energy truck was not injured.

NV Energy did release this statement regarding the accident:

"NV Energy is aware of the situation and are cooperating with investigators."

The driver was not hurt, and by law, because he was driving a commercial vehicle, he is required to submit to a blood draw. Police have not pressed any charges at this time.
