Man killed over weekend identified
Las Vegas, NV (AP) -- Police say a 30-year-old man faces a murder charge after officers found him standing over a mortally wounded man following a shooting at a Las Vegas home.
Michael Jeffries was being held Monday at the Clark County jail pending a court appearance on a murder charge in the slaying of 34-year-old Eric Gore.
Police say Jeffries was arrested about 12:45 a.m. Sunday by officers responding to a report that a man had been shot at a home southwest of downtown Las Vegas.
Police found Jeffries inside the house, talking on the phone and standing over Gore.
Gore was transported to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The Clark County coroner says he died of a gunshot wound to the chest.
