Javier Righetti to make first court appearance Thursday
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Javier Righetti, accused of killing 15-year-old Alyssa Otremba, is scheduled to make his first court appearance on Thursday.
Righetti faces the following charges:
- Murder with a deadly weapon
- First-degree kidnapping with use of a deadly weapon
- Sexual assault with a minor under 16 years of age with use of a deadly weapon
- Robbery with use of a deadly weapon
Righetti reportedly confessed to police that he killed Otremba on Friday night. He later went back to the scene and lit her body on fire with gasoline, he said.
Otremba's body was found unrecognizable on Saturday during a search of the area. She was later positively identified by the Clark County Coroner's Office.
Police received tips from two teens who know Righetti, leading them to his residence on Monday. They searched the residence and arrested Righetti.
He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center Monday night.
