Man accused in Portaro murder makes first court appearance
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The man accused in the shooting death of a local aspiring rapper made his first appearance in court this morning.
A judge sets bail for Brandon Hill at more than $1,000,000.
The 22-year-old faces a charge of murder with a deadly weapon, for the March 30th shooting death of Michael Portaro.
Portaro was outside the Tenaya Creek Brewery selling concert tickets when someone shot him and took his car.
Hill is also being held on two other charges related to a separate carjacking incident a few day before where a gun was used.
Police say they have DNA evidence that connects Hill to the Portaro murder.
Hill told Action News he is innocent and these charges are a mistake. He's scheduled to appear in court again July 8th, for his preliminary hearing.
