During his GAC special this past weekend, Garth Brooks revealed the upcoming release of a new four-CD boxed set. "Blame It All on My Roots: Five Decades of Influences" will be available Nov. 19 through Walmart. The limited-edition set was revealed during the final 15 minutes of the TV special, according to the Music Universe.
Each of the discs will feature 10 tracks, with the entertainer covering artists who have influenced his life and career. Many of the songs have been performed during Garth's residency in Las Vegas. James Taylor, Gladys Knight, Jerry Lee Lewis, Cat Stevens and Marvin Gaye are among the acts whose songs are performed on the 40-song collection. Garth is also joined by his wife, Trisha Yearwood, as a backing vocalist throughout the project and the couple duets on the 1971 Conway Twitty-Loretta Lynn classic, "After The Fire Is Gone."
Although no pre-order information is available, Music Universe noted that a tiny photo of the boxed set can be seen at Walmart.com and speculates that the collection may also include two DVDs, although the CDs were the only element mentioned during the TV special.
What we do know for sure is Garth will perform his final Las Vegas show from the Encore during a live CBS special Nov. 29.
