Blake Shelton has long been an admirer and a student of classic country music. Now, the star will get to demonstrate his affection for the greats when he performs with three of them on "The 56th Annual Grammy Awards" Jan. 26.
In recent years, the Grammy Awards have become known for putting together interesting groups of performers and calling the groupings "Grammy Moments." One such moment on the upcoming show will be a performance by Blake, Merle Haggard, Kris Kristofferson and Willie Nelson. The performance will be Merle's first-ever on the Grammy stage.
Blake is a Grammy nominee this year. Merle is a two-time Grammy winner. Willie has won seven times, and Kris is a three-time Grammy winner, as well as a 2014 Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award recipient.
LL Cool J returns as host of the show, which will air live on CBS from Los Angeles' Staples Center. Other newly-announced performers are Daft Punk, Kendrick Lamar, Imagine Dragons, P!nk and FUN's Nate Reuss.
