PHOTOS: New attractions in Las Vegas

  • Coming Soon: The Venue Las Vegas, a space for special events, weddings, meetings, conferences and live events, will open in the Fremont East District in February 2015.

  • Coming Soon: Former Runnin' Rebel Jackie Robinson is opening a new arena and resort on the north end of the resort corridor on the Las Vegas Strip. It's expected to open in late 2015.

  • Coming Soon: The Gramercy will begin opening in phases in fall of 2014, and will provide a new place to shop, eat, socialize and live in southwest Las Vegas. The Gramercy

  • The LINQ Hotel & Casino will replace The Quad on the Las Vegas Strip. The hotel will begin welcoming guests in October of 2014.

  • In the Works: Rock in Rio USA, a 33-acre concert venue, is being built in Las Vegas near Circus Circus. The first concert is scheduled for May of 2015. Rock in Rio

  • Now Open: Drai's Beach Club and Night Club opened Memorial Day Weekend on top of The Cromwell. Caesars Entertainment

  • Now Open: The SLS Las Vegas Hotel & Casino opened in August 2014. SLS Las Vegas

  • In the Works: Cordish Companies is looking to build a new arena in downtown Las Vegas. Plans also call for a live entertainment district with retail and dining offerings. Cordish Companies

  • Coming Soon: Grand Bazaar Shops is scheduled to open in fall 2014 at the entrance to Bally's Las Vegas. Grand Bazaar Shops

  • Now Open: Hershey's Chocolate World, a two-story chocolate experience, opened in early June at New York-New York Hotel & Casino. The Hershey Company

  • Now Open: GameWorks reopened at Town Square in July.

  • Coming Soon: Dinner in the Sky is expected to open sometime in 2014 near Tropicana and Polaris Avenues.

  • Now Open: The Cromwell took the place of the former Bill's Gamblin' Hall. It officially opened over Memorial Day weekend 2014. Caesars Entertainment

  • In the Works: Plans are in the works for a new thrill ride in Las Vegas called "Polercoaster." The project still needs approval from the FAA, but could potentially be the tallest roller coaster in the world. U.S. Thrill Rides LLC

  • Now Open: The Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino brought a new thrill ride to its property. The new zip line called VooDoo zip line flies riders between the two towers. Caesars Entertainment

  • Coming Soon: Resorts World was expected to break ground by the end of 2013, on the piece of land that was planned as the Echelon Hotel. Resorts World will feature hotels, casinos and an indoor water park.

  • Coming Soon: MGM Resorts International and AEG are building a 20,000-seat arena for concerts, boxing, mixed martial arts, award shows and other events. It's expected to open by spring 2016. AEG, MGM

  • Now Open: Cowabunga Bay in Henderson opened to the public on July 4. Cowabunga Bay

  • Coming Soon: MGM Resorts International is planning on building a park and public promenade outside of its New York-New York and Monte Carlo casinos. Expected to be complete in 2014. MGM Resorts
