  • Local business owners are holding a grand opening for Beanz Coffee Cafe this Saturday! Since the date is 2/2... wear a TUTU and you get a FREE beverage! Very cool, right?  From 11am - noon, the Las Vegas Vanguard Entertainment Drumline will be perfomring. 

  • Las Vegas Guns and Hoses Spring Classic 2013 is happening all weekend long. It kicked off on January 31 and runs through February 3.  The tourney will be completed prior to Super Bowl parties!  $10 per ticket and keep in mind that the proceeds benefit Opportunity Village!  Get on over and watch as your Las Vegas Police Hockey Team  takes on Las Vegas Fire Department Hockey Team in this charity ice hockey game.

  • UNLV Women's Basketball goes head to head with  Boise State this Saturday at 3pm.  The Lady Rebels will also host the "National Girls & Women in Sports Day." This event will highlight female athletes and encourage young girls and women to get involved with all things sports. Tickets are 2 for 1 and kids under 12 years old get FREE admission!

  • It's time to explore the fire house! Fire Department's Station 23 Firehouse will open their doors this Saturday from noon - 3pm.  The station is located at 4250 E Alexander Rd. This is a perfect time to get the community and our kids, educated on life-safety information. Stop by the open house this Saturday!

  • Make-a-Wish Southern Nevada will host their 5K Run/Walk and 1-Mile Fun Walk presented by Caesar's Foundation this Saturday at 9am.  Head on over to Town Square Las Vegas to join the fun. You can find the crowd in front of the Stoney's Rockin' Country parking lot.  Mayor Carol Goodman will act as grand marshal.  

  • The Alliance for Young Artists & Writers will collaborate with Springs Preserve this year for the 90th Anniversary Scholastic Art & Writing Awards Southern Nevada Regional Competition. Visitors will be able to view art from local students (grades 7-12).  Photography, painting, sculpture and digital design will all be recognized.  You will be able to explore the creative works of young artists starting this Saturday and running through Sunday, March 3 from 10am - 4pm. 

  • Get ready for some fun in the sun!  The 13th annual Sandy Valley Volunteer Fire Department Balloon Fest, Pancake Breakfast and Safety Fair will be held from 7am - 1 pm this Saturday!  Support the dedicated volunteer firefighters in Sandy Valley and get to know the community.  You can hop on a balloon ride for just $50. Check in begins at 7am.
