2013 Mexican Independence Day in Las Vegas
There are a variety of events to celebrate Mexican Independence Day in Las Vegas this year.
FIESTA LAS VEGAS PARADE & FESTIVAL
When: 10 a.m. Sept. 14
Where: Downtown Las Vegas
What: The 3rd annual Fiesta Las Vegas Parade & Festival will take place on 4th Street in downtown Las Vgas. The parade will be followed by the festival on Fremont Street from 1 p.m. to midnight. There will live entertainment, cultural booths, food booths and children's activities. The traditional "El Grito," to celebrate Mexican Independence Day, will be at 7 p.m.

DRINKS & BRUNCH AT LA COMIDA
When: Sept. 14 and 16
Where: La Comida, downtown Las Vegas
What: La Comida will host its first weekend brunch from noon until 4 p.m. Sept. 14. The brunch will feature an array of authentic Mexican selections. There will also be drinks specials Sept. 14 and 16 including $5 Cazadores Margarits and $15 El Jimador Tequila Flights. Denise Truscello
MEXICAN INDEPENDENCE DAY DRINK SPECIALS
When: Sept. 16
Where: Rhumbar, The Mirage
What: Rhumbar will offer drink specials including the Spicy Lover made with Cuervo Platino tequila and the Pineapple Chipotle Margarita. Both cocktails will be priced at $12. Dos Equis will also be available for $5 each.
FLOYD MAYWEATHER VS. CANELO ALVAREZ
When: Sept. 14
Where: MGM Grand Garden Arena
What: Boxer Floyd Mayweather will face Mexican superstar and undefeated Canelo Alvarez in a 12-round fight for Canelo's WBC, WBA and Ring Magazine Super Welterweight World Championships and Mayweather's WBA Super Welterweight Super World Championship.

MAYWEATHER VS. CANELO VIEWING PARTY
When: 5 p.m. Sept. 14
Where: Hyde Bellagio
What: Hyde Bellagio will host a viewing party for the biggest fight of the year -- Floyd Mayweather vs. Canelo Alvarez. After the fights, Derrick Anthony will spin tunes for an after-party.

STREET TACOS AT TACOS & TEQUILA
When: Sept. 13-16
Where: Tacos & Tequila, Luxor Las Vegas
What: Tacos & Tequila will honor Mexican Independence Day with a lively celebration featuring authentic Mexican street tacos, margaritas and a Mariachi brunch. Tacos will be priced at $3 each. MEXICAN-INSPIRED PRIX-FIXE MENU
When: Sept. 13-16
Where: SHe by Morton, The Shops at Crystals

COMPLIMENTARY TASTINGS & PARTY

Where: China Poblano, Cosmopolitan Las Vegas
What: There will be complimentary tastings Sept. 13 to 15 from 8:30 to 10 p.m. The tastings will feature several varities of tequilas and mezcals by Mexican artisans. A special Mexican Independence Day menu will feature Taco de Pancita al Pastor, Arroz con Huitlacoche, Chile en Nogada, Menudo and several special cocktails. The special food items are priced between $14 and $16. Cocktails are $16-$22.
