Medical examiner determines cause of death for Bullhead City child
Bullhead City, AZ (KTNV) -- The Mohave County Medical Examiner has determined the cause of death of 8-year-old Isabella (Bella) Grogran-Cannella as asphyxiation by strangulation.
26-year-old Justin James Rector, a family friend, was arrested in connection to her death early Thursday morning.
The little girl was discovered missing from her home on Tuesday. Her sister told police that she saw Bella and Rector together around 11:30 p.m. Monday night. A body was found in a shallow grave near Bella's home on Wednesday and the body was visually identified as Bella.
The case is still under investigation, including whether or not Bella was sexually assaulted before or after her death.
