Top Golden Globes nominees include ‘American Hustle,’ ’12 Years a Slave’

 The 2014 Golden Globe nominations are out, and the films “12 Years a Slave” and “American Hustle” each earned seven nods in the motion picture categories. In television, two shows earned four nominations apiece: the series “House of Cards” and the made-for-television movie “Behind the Candelabra.” 

In addition to “12 Years a Slave,” nominees in the best motion picture category are “Captain Phillips,” “Gravity,” “Philomena” and “Rush.” The nominees in the best TV drama series category are “Breaking Bad,” “Downton Abbey,” “The Good Wife,” “House of Cards” and “Masters of Sex.” In the comedy TV series category, nominees are “The Big Bang Theory,” “Girls,” “Modern Family,” “Parks and Recreation” and freshman series “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.”
The Hollywood Foreign Press Assn announced the nominations this morning. The awards show will air Jan. 12, hosted again this year by actor/comedians Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.
