Dolphins QB wife, Lauren Tannehill, leaves AR-15 rifle in rental
Lauren Tannehill, 26, wife of quarterback Ryan Tannehill from the Miami Dolphins, rented a Nissan Rogue from E-Z-Rent-A-Car and then returned it for another car two hours later.
However, Tannehill left something worth $2,000 behind in the back seat and no, it's not jewelry. Tannehill forgot to remove an AR-15 rifle secured in a case.
The Tannehills reported a "personal item" missing, as it took two days for the next renter, New Yorker Judith Flessig, 58, to find it. Looking for ID, her daughter unzipped the bag and said, "Oh my God, it's a gun," reports the Miami Herald. "I said, 'I think I'm going to throw up,'" Flessig responded.
Broward Sherriff's Office spokeswoman Keyla Concepcion said, "This is certainly the kind of item you don't want to forget anywhere, but forgetting isn't a crime." The rifle was licensed to the Tannehills.
Further reports do not confirm whether police have released the rifle, and the Tannehills do not have a comment at this time.
