Toy Drive In Memory Of Toddler Who Lost His Battle With Cancer
Omaha, NE - In loving memory of a 3-year old who lost his life to cancer, Ryder Richards' family is collecting toys to donate to Children's hospital on his birthday.
In 2010, Ryder was diagnosed with malignant rhabdoid tumors. For ten months he fought the cancer at Children's hospital. In September of 2011, additional tumors were found around his body.
Weeks after his third birthday, on October 31, 2011, Ryder took his last breaths and passed away. Since his death, his family has collected toys to donate to Children's hospital every year on October 15, his birthday.
This year, the family is raising money to buy laptops and electronics for kids at Children's so they can participate in school during treatment. Toys for kids of all ages are being collected at Westroads mall in the JC Penny parking lot in a Metro bus until 5 pm. If you miss the "STUFF THE BUS" drive, toys can be donated to home addresses 5008 Martha Street or 3225 South 90th until October 14.
