Omaha, NE-About one hundred people attended a service tonight at St. Peter church, praying for Michael Burton, 28. The diver has been missing since Saturday.
It was a very solemn catholic prayer service at St. Peter. The group prayed the rosary and asked for search crews find Michael Burton's body soon. Search crews worked from Saturday to Monday, looking for the missing Omaha man. He never resurfaced from a dive while spear fishing and free diving in Beaver Lake, Arkansas.
Denise and Mike Terneus say the Burton is well known at the church. He has taught catechism classes, chaperoned youth trips, and helped feed the hungry. On his YouTube page, he called himself the "outdoor Catholic". A fitting title, they say.
"He definitely had an interest for the outdoors. Since our oldest son was also an enthusiast for the outdoors, Michael had offered to mountain bike with our son and some of the youth," Denise said.
Our cameras weren't allowed inside the service, which lasted about an hour and a half. The pastor called Michael a pearl, and prayed for the diving crews in Arkansas to find him. Arkansas search crews will begin looking for Michael Burton Thursday morning. During the service the pastor said crews have a good idea where Burton's body is.
