Sock Monkeys to the Rescue!
Omaha - Some patients at the Nebraska Medical Center got some cheering up from a creature with wacky hair and button eyes.
Jennifer Windrum delivered 400 sock monkeys to patients at the Nebraska Medical Center on Friday.
They're called SMAC Monkeys which stands for "Sock Monkeys Against Cancer.
Windrum took in $35,000 through social media, ordered the sock monkeys and packaged them in her garage.
She got the idea for the project when her mother battled cancer.
