Roofer Falls To His Death In Old Market

Omaha, NE -- A man working on the roof of a building in Old Market fell and died on Tuesday.
Just before 5:30 p.m, Omaha Police said a man working on the roof of a building, fell and landed on the roof of the building next door.
The building the roofer fell from is located just east of the 13th and Harney Streets. It's across the street from Roja.
Omaha Police estimate the man fell 30 feet to his death.
The fire and police departments were called out for a man down, and when they got up to the roof he fell onto, they found him dead.
"Investigators will go up and check the scene to make sure that everything is as it seems, and it was an accident," said Officer James Shade. "Then we'll process the deceased victim at that point."
The fire department had to use their ladders to get to the roof to get the body down.
The crime lab was also on scene to try to piece together what happened.
Police said they're still investigating the details as to how he fell.
The man has not been identified.
Police said he does not for work the city. He works for a private company.
