Omaha, NE- Police discovered and towed-away the SUV of a murdered Northwest Omaha woman Wednesday night. They found the gold Chevy abandoned in an alley in North Omaha.
Omaha Police and Douglas County Sheriff's Deputies combed the alley near 43rd and Charles looking for clues that shattered a family and left a neighborhood.
A quiet Northwest Omaha neighborhood turned into a crime scene.
"We don't expect that to happen out here, not to say it can't, it's just shocking to hear and prayers to the family." says Nick Trimberger, who lives near 168th and Fort.
33-year-old Andrea Kruger was on her way home from work when shots rang out early Wednesday morning.
"I doubt that this one incident will make it unsafe, but it's still just unsettling." says Trimberger.
Neighbors at 168th and Fort say they never expected something like this to happen here.
"I shot right up, was kind of drowsy still but as soon as I saw that, that really woke me up." added Trimberger.
Kruger's husband Michael-Ryan says she would be angry, because she had so much living still to do.
"I think she's somewhere like holding on saying, just wait a second, I'm really upset about what happened, she's pretty feisty." says Michael-Ryan.
Michael-Ryan says when Andrea didn't come home after work and failed to answer her cell phone he went out looking for her, but was pulled over by police on the way out of his neighborhood.
"It was like a double shock I'm getting pulled over and at the same time I just realized that was definitely my wife that they were talking about in the news." says Michael-Ryan.
Police found Kruger's car Wednesday in an alley near 43rd and Charles. Officers combed the area, searching for clues on what may have happened.
Her family just wants answers.
"Hopefully someone will find that car and more importantly hopefully they'll find whoever was in that car." adds Michael-Ryan.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Crimestoppers at 402-444-6000.
