PAPILLION, Neb. (KMTV) - Police are investigating a crash that sent a Papillon La Vista High School student to the hospital in serious condition Wednesday morning.
Witnesses told police that the 17-year-old boy ran through the crosswalk and was hit by a car making a right-hand turn.
Investigators said the boy hit the car’s windshield and was thrown about 50 feet.
Police said the boy did not have the right of way.
“We’re still investigating that, but I don’t suspect there will be any moving violations against him,” said one officer.
Police are reviewing witness reports and traffic cameras in the area to see if the driver of the car or the boy could be charged.
Papillion La Vista school officials said the boy is expected to be OK.
