OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) - One man has died and two are in in the hospital after a shooting with multiple scenes Thursday afternoon.
Late Thursday night, police say Lamar King, 26, died. Marcus Johnson, 18, and Johnnie Wilson, 19, were in critical condition.
Investigators were at three locations along Ames Avenue – 30th Street, 37th Street and the fire station at 34th Street.
A spokesperson for the Omaha Police Department said multiple shots were fired and officers were dispatched after 3:30 p.m.
Public Information Officer Kevin Wiese said one shooting victim left to get help at the fire station at 34th and Ames, while the other flagged down first responders near 30th and Ames.
"Two vehicles left the scene. One ended up at the fire station just off of like 34th Ave. and Ames, and then another one there at 31st Ave. and Ames. Both of those vehicles were trying to get medical help," he said.
They were both taken to CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center in critical condition.
“As officers arrive they try and make sure all the victims get all the medical attention they need and that we make the situation as safe as possible, and then the investigation starts as the safety of everybody is taken care of first,” said Weise.
Witness Michell Colburn said she heard about 10-12 gunshots.
"I went to my daughter's bedroom and I seen a woman holding a black, looked like a sawed-off shotgun-looking thing, she said.
Colburn said she saw a boy on the ground by a red truck, a boy down on the street down the road and a bunch of women screaming and running from homes.
"I heard one woman scream, 'Marcus! He's still breathing.' This is so sad anytime there is a kid or any victim to a shooting," she said.
