Omaha (KMTV) Pictured are Omaha native, Gunner's Mate Seaman Travis Tomaszkiewicz, performing maintenance on a .50 cal machine gun, and the ship he's aboard, the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Truxtun (DDG 103).

The USS Truxtun (DDG-103) is a US Navy Arleigh Burke-class destroyer,named for American Naval hero, and founding father of the U.S. Navy, Commodore Thomas Truxtun (1755-1822). It is the sixth U.S. naval warship to bear his name.

The Truxtun is deployed as part of the George H.W. Bush Carrier Strike Group on a scheduled deployment supporting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility. 

The ship also served as a filming location for the movie Captain Phillips, standing in for the USS Bainbridge.
