New Details Emerge in Teen's Deadly Shooting

CREATED Mar 25, 2014
OMAHA - An Omaha teenager will face 2nd degree murder charges for the shooting death of his friend.

During his preliminary hearing, prosecutors outlined what happened when 17 year old Christopher Spears shot and killed Dominique Hollie on February 21st.

Investigators say Spears and Hollie began arguing because Spears made sexual comments about Hollie's sister.

Hollie went to his bedroom and grabbed a sawed off shotgun and threatened Spears with it.

Witnesses said Hollie was only joking and put it away.

Shortly after, Spears got the gun and pointed it at Hollie.

The same witnesses say Spears told Hollie three times that he was going to shoot him.

Hollie pointed to the left side of his head and said "do it right here".

Spears then shot Hollie at point blank range.

Police have not found the gun, and there were conflicting accounts of what Spears did with it.

Police arrested Spears at a house a few blocks away from the shooting.

The defense asked for a reduced charge of manslaughter, but the judge bound Spears over on the 2nd degree murder charge.
