Man Arrested for Stealing from Kruger Benefit
Omaha, NE - Douglas County Sheriff's Department deputies believe they know who is responsible for stealing from a fundraiser in honor of homicide victim Andrea Kruger.
They booked 50-year-old Jeffrey Johnson on suspicion of felony theft. Deputies say he was a volunteer at the fundraiser. An arrest warrant was issued for 26-year-old Kristin Hunt for the same offense.
The Déjà Vu lounge, Kruger's former employer, hosted a fundraiser for the family of Andrea Kruger. Organizers later discovered that someone stole a 50" plasma television and a framed picture of the University of Nebraska Memorial Stadium that were up for auction. They items were estimated at costing more than $700.
Deputies say Hunt sold the stolen items to EZ Money Pawn Shop. The shop will return the stolen items.
Someone killed Kruger in August. Prosecutors have charged Nikko Jenkins and his uncle, Warren Levering, with first degree murder.
