Iowa High School Bans Excessive Cellphone Use

Bondurant, IA - A high school in central Iowa is telling students to hang up their cell phones at school.
Officials at Bondurant-Farrar High School in Bondurant, about 25 miles northeast of Des Moines, say students are using their phones and other hand-held devices too much.
So the school has banned them during the entire school day, even between classes and during the lunch hour.
Students can carry their cell phones in their pockets or purses, but they can't use them or even look at them.
The school says they also hope the ban will help control cyber bullying on social media.
The punishment for students caught on their phones including getting the phone taken away, or even school suspensions.
