Husker Player Nominated For Uplifting Athlete Award

LINCOLN, NE- Team Jack and the Husker football team are working to raise awareness for pediatric brain cancer, and now one team member is getting recognition for his efforts.
Husker Fullback C.J. Zimmerer has been nominated for the 2014 Rare Disease Champion Award. The award is given to a college athlete that helps shine a light on a rare disease.
Zimmerer helped organize Jack Hoffman's 69-yard touchdown run during the 2013 Nebraska Spring Game. Video of the run went viral.
Zimmerer is currently in first place. Voting for the award nominees closes tonight at 11:59 p.m.
