Omaha, NE- The violent murders shocked many people across the metro, especially those closest to the victims. The arrest of Nikko Jenkins is welcome news to friends of Andrea Kruger.
There is a sense of justice around those who knew Andrea Kruger knowing that the person who took their friend away from her family and friends is in jail and will hopefully spend a long time there.
"The Omaha Community can rest easier and feel safer now that Nikko Jenkins is safely locked up." said Police Chief Todd Schmadarer as he and Douglas County Sheriff Tim Dunning announced the arrest of Jenkins.
Family and Friends have been waiting to hear those words for the past two weeks.
"Hopefully justice can be served this time and he says locked up for good." says Chad Dargy, owner of The Cove.
The Cove, near 144th and Maple is where Andrea made friends.
"It's just unfathomable what this guy could do in 30 days and hopefully this doesn't happen again, that he doesn't have the opportunity to do this again or go on a spree like this." says Dargy.
Andrea also worked at déjà vu Lounge with friend and owner Nicky Richardson. Richardson says she is still numb by the murder of her friend.
Both places are keeping Andrea's memory alive.
On September 27th, déjà vu will be holding a fundraiser for the Kruger Family. The Cove held a fundraiser last weekend. They are still tallying up how much they raised.
