Former Husker Arraigned Early
LINCOLN - A former Husker and NFL star appeared in a courtroom on Wednesday, a week ahead of schedule.
Alfonzo Dennard's lawyer was able to move up his court date so he could attend camp with the New England Patriots next week.
Dennard was arraigned on a probation violation for hitting a police officer last year.
Officers pulled him over for straddling the lane lines and arrested him for refusing a breath test and driving under the influence two weeks ago.
Dennard reportedly took the breathalyzer test twice and was not above the limit.
He says he refused to blow a third time, and he passed a sobriety test.
The football player is due back in court next month.
