Lincoln, NE-Basketball is king, as Creighton and Nebraska prepare for the NCAA tournament. The huskers left for San Antonio this evening, where both teams play on Friday.
If the Jays and Huskers both win, they would face each other on Sunday, making the I-80 rivalry a bit stronger going into the tournament.
A baseball appetizer proved exciting today. A 10th inning Husker win made for an exciting game tonight on the baseball field. Fans hope it's a taste of what would happen if the two teams meet on the court Sunday.
"I think a friendly rivalry. Which is always good. It's great for the state, it's great for the boys," Christine Chrisman said.
"I'll cheer for the Jays when they're not playing the Huskers,"Jeff Behrens said. "I think it would be a lot better game than the first game. I don't expect Creighton to come out shooting as well as they did in that game. I'm open for that match up."
Creighton played Nebraska early in the Basketball season and won. Husker fans weren't extremely hungry for a rematch at the Baseball game. They were just happy to be in the NCAA tournament. The last time Nebraska was in the NCAA was 1998, so it has been a while for fans...
"Should we get to play Creighton on Sunday, the state of Nebraska can't loose either way," Pat Collins-Hill said.
