Omaha, NE – Fire left a family of 10 out in the cold Friday night. The fire broke out in a house near 27th and Newport. When firefighters arrived, the two adults and eight children were outside.
Smoke was coming out of the house. Crews went to the second floor and had the flames under control in ten minutes. Battalion Chief Rob McEvoy said the upstairs has fire, smoke and water damage.
The family told our crew on the scene that they could stay in the house. But the Red Cross was on the scene and was offering to put them up.
