Omaha, NE - It's a hot and steamy unofficial end of summer.
From downtown to Northwest Omaha, the tents are going up and people are coming out.
Whether you're heading to the La Festa Italiana, SeptemberFest or a high school football game, people are going to face a common battle: the heat.
"Hopefully, people will come out for it," said SeptemberFest vendor Clint Hartung. "That's my biggest concern."
Terry Bolamperti, the president of the American Italian Heritage Society, said they knew the heat was coming, and planned the La Festa Italiana setup accordingly.
"We've been doing this all week," said Bolamperti. "We've been doing a little bit at a time because of the heat. We're a little short of help today because right now, it's probably the hottest part of the day."
There is air conditioning on site and a T.V. ready to go for Saturday.
"Tomorrow night, of course, we have the Husker football game on the big screen inside in air conditioning with food and beverage," said Bolamperti.
Vendors at SeptemberFest were sweating it out, but they said it comes with the territory.
"We're hot," said Hartung. "It's nice. It's Nebraska. It could have been snowing too. What are you going to do?"
While it may be a scorching start to the weekend, everyone is looking forward to the mercury dropping.
"Of course Sunday it's going to be in mid-low 80s, and I know we're going to have just a jam-packed day," said Bolamperti. "I say come all three nights and have a lot of fun."
La Festa Italiana wraps up Sunday, and SeptemberFest is over on Monday.
