Omaha, NE- Authorities says the sister of the man accused of murdering four Omaha residents was involving in one of the killing sprees in August.
23-year-old Erica Jenkins was arrested for first degree murder, use of a weapon to commit a felony, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
The news of Erica Jenkins arrest is just setting in for Curtis Bradford's family. One month to the day her son was found murdered, Velita Glasgow is grateful authorities are tracking down those responsible.
"I really don't know how to answer that because this case is so weird." says Glasgow.
Omaha Police announced on Thursday the arrest of Erica Jenkins, the sister of the man accused of killing Curtis Bradford, has also been arrested for murder. Police arrested her brother Nikko earlier this month.
"The way the case is going, it's just nothing in this case is surprising, you just have to go with the flow, like ok, what's next?" explains Glasgow.
Velita Glascow says she doesn't know Erica or Nikko Jenkins, but Curtis, who served two years in prison for robbery, must have met Nikko behind bars.
"He was a good kid, he had a big heart, he was loyal, dedicated and lots of smiles." explains Velita.
Curtis was released from jail last December, just in time to spend christmas with his family, including his grandparents, who both passed away earlier this year.
"It's just sad we've got to get to this Christmas and we don't got none of them." a tearful Velita explains.
Velita says Curtis was changing his life around, he was expected to start classes at ITT Tech this month.
"I can honestly say he was ready for change, I go to bed at night knowing that." a proud Velita says.
As a family continues to grieve, questions still remain unanswered, like why?
"They should have thought about their kids first, they should have though about their children before they took somebody else's." an emotional Glasgow says.
Police also arrested Lori Sayles Thursday for accessory to murder in this case.
Erica Jenkins has been in custody for the past two weeks. During one court appearance she became enraged, yelling at the judge, and kicking over the podium.
