Doug McDermott Takes Home an ESPY

KMTV - Former Creighton star and current Chicago Bull Doug McDermott just added to his trophy case. 

The basketball player has taken home the ESPY for Best Male College Athlete. He was up against Johnny Gaudreau (Boston College Hockey), David Taylor (Penn State Wrestling), Lyle Thompson (Albany Lacrosse) and Jameis Winston (Florida State Football/Baseball). 

According to GoCreighton.com, McDermott won 14 National Player of the Year accolades during a senior season that saw him lead the Bluejays to a third straight Round of 32 NCAA Tournament appearance, as he topped the nation in scoring with 26.7 points and added a team-high 7.0 rebounds per game.
