Cycling Community Helps OPD Bike Patrol
(Omaha, NE)--Omaha cyclists donate more than $1,000 to help the Omaha Police Department Bike Patrol.
In October a lifelong cyclist and bike advocate heard that the Omaha Police Department Bike Patrol could use a nice bike rack to mount their bicycles for transport on squad vehicles.
The cycling club member posted the OPD patrol's need to social media and reached out to Craig Kelley of the popular Dundee Chain Gang Cycling Club. Members of the club donated funds and "Bike Rack" stores in Omaha and Lincoln offered to donate a new bike rack and sell the OPD bike patrol, all items at a discounted price.
The cash and racks will be handed over in a presentation event at The Bike Rack (14510 Eagle Run Drive) on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at 10:00 a.m.
