Accused Killer In Court
Omaha, NE - A Douglas County judge decided this morning to allow the media and the public inside a preliminary hearing for Anthony Garcia.
He's the man charged with killing four people with ties to Creighton University.
The preliminary hearing is underway right now. The judge decided earlier this morning to deny a request by attorneys for Garcia who argued that news coverage of the preliminary hearing would hurt Garcia's right to a fair trial.
Garcia is being held without bond on four counts of first-degree murder.
He's accused of killing the 11-year-old son of Creighton pathologist William Hunter and the family's housekeeper in 2008, as well as Creighton University pathologist Roger Brumback and his wife Mary, back in May.
Drs. Brumback and Hunter fired Garcia from the Creighton pathology program in 2001.
Prosecutors say the killings were revenge.
