PAPILLION, Neb. (KMTV) - Some young 4-H members turned a local field into a launch pad Thursday.

Organizers say about 15 4-H’rs participated in their annual rocket launch contest in Papillion.

The rockets were judged on launching ability, flight and recovery process, along with safety.

The Douglas and Sarpy County 4-H program has more than 1,000 youth members.

They are getting ready for the upcoming Sarpy County Fair in Springfield next week.

Livestock shows and 4-H events begin on Wednesday, July 30.
