Fontanelle, NE- About an hour northwest of Omaha, sits a little piece of country that organizers call a "well kept secret." The fall, Camp Fontanelle's corn maze is opened for the 7th year in a row. They're turnout is moderate, about 6,000 all season.
"It's not just the place but the feeling that we give people," Jane VanHorn Camp Coordinator says.
That feeling is low cost family fun. They charge for fall features like a zip line, corn maze, and laser tag in the corn maze. Other attracts are free like campfire rentals, hay rides, and a petting zoo.
Camp Fontanelle was created in 1959 by the United Methodist Church with the main mission of creating an atmosphere of intentional Christian community through summer camping programs. They offer faith based summer camps from Memorial Day through mid-August for children 4-18.
"You don't have to be religious to participate," Derek Bergman, Program director says.
Camp Fontanelle will also have halloween themed events in October including trick or treating in the maze, and a costumed 5K.
