Lincoln, NE - "Like I said I'm truly sorry for anybody I've offended, and leave it at that."
In his second, third or even fourth apology, Nebraska Head Coach Bo Pelini hopes husker fans can forgive him for his intense remarks.
"I mean as a fan that's not really what you want to hear, you want to like, if we're there supporting the huskers, supporting him as a coach he should reciprocate that and support us as fans too and not say things like that."
The last 48 hours on the Lincoln campus has been nothing but talk about Pelini, and his choice words leaked this week, criticizing fans during an explicit rant from 2011.
"You can't say that about the fans, which, when he said that I was offended."
"We get out there, and we support our huskers, so I mean it's kind of offensive."
In his first on camera appearance since the leak Pelini said he's human and makes mistakes just like anybody else.
"Obviously what was said in that room that day was not meant for public consumption, it was an extremely emotional evening. I'm not making excuses I'm a grown man, and I accept responsibility for what I said."
Getting his team ready for their next opponent, South Dakota State, Coach Pelini isn't sure how fans in the stands will act.
"I would anticipate that the fans understand the situation, the time line, when that happened. All the things. Like I said I think the rational people out there, will understand."
UNL students seem to think everything will be fine.
"I kind of understand the heat of the moment thing, but still I just think coaches should be more careful with that kind of thing."
"I just, I think it will be ok cause he apologized. After he did that, I was like, ok cool."
