Omaha, NE - They're the songs that remind us of our freedom and they're all played at the "Soundz of Freedom" music festival.
Until midnight, Werner Park will have bands and activities for everyone in the family and it's all for a good cause.
Three years ago Lisbeth Anderson wanted to do something more for our heroes, when her own son struggled with post traumatic stress disorder after serving in Iraq. "My son was shot when he was over in Iraq and I noticed when he came back it seemed like things were very difficult for him in many ways." Anderson says every July while America celebrates freedom, her son Justin and many like him, go through PTSD, as fireworks remind some veterans of a war zone.
The music festival is a chance to educate the public about PTSD and hidden scars.
A ten dollar donation is requested at the door for everyone 16 and older. Five dollars is requested for 15 and younger. Proceeds from the "Soundz of Freedom" music festival will go to the Wounded Warriors project at a local and national level.
