Three Golf Pros Will Not Play At U.S. Senior Open

CREATED Jul. 4, 2013

Omaha, NE - The U.S. Golf Association says three golfers will not be hitting the links here in Omaha next week.

Craig Stadler, Nick Price and two-time champion Allen Doyle have withdrawn from the U.S. Senior Open at Omaha Country Club.

Stadler, who won the Champions Tour's Encompass Championship last month, pulled out because of a foot injury.

Price, who tied for ninth in the 2011 Senior Open in his only appearance in the event, has a hurt elbow.

And Doyle, who won consecutive Senior Open championships in 2005 and 2006, has an undisclosed medical condition.

Sectional qualifiers will fill those three vacancies.
