Teen Charged In Crash That Killed Three Fremont Teens
Fremont, NE - The Dodge County Attorney confirms a teenager has been charged with three misdemeanors in relation to a crash that killed three teens.
Prosecutors charged Quinton Amundson with Racing on a Highway, Willful Reckless Driving, and Driving Left of Center. If convicted, Amundson could lose his license for up to a year.
County attorney Oliver Glass tells KMTV Amundson was drag racing Jackson Blick early last month. Blick lost control of his vintage Mustang. He, Trey Hanson and Tyler Walling died as a result. Their friend Jake Burnside survived, but suffered critical injuries. He's now being treated at the Madonna Rehabilitation Facility in Lincoln.
Amundson, who was driving a Chevy Camaro, will be arraigned on July 23. Late this afternoon, Reporter Lindsey Theis went to the Amundson home in Fremont. A man who identified himself as Quinton's older brother said he did not think his brother was racing, that he was being a kid.
The County Attorney, Oliver Glass, said if convicted of the reckless driving and racing charges (both misdemeanors), Quinton Amundson could face 9 months in jail total and lose his driver's license for up to a year.
