Reductions For Omaha Public Libraries
Omaha, NE - The Omaha Public Library Board will discuss this afternoon, whether or not they'll need to close branches or limit hours, to meet Mayor Jean Stothert's proposed budget cuts.
The board sent Stothert a letter saying the proposed budget for next year would mean a reduction of $175,000 this year, and more than $200,000 next year.
The board is now considering several options that include closing branches, reducing hours, offering fewer programs and buying fewer books.
The board will discuss those options today at 4:00 p.m.
