Waterloo, NE -- A state parked full of families for Father's Day turned into the scene of a water rescue. Crews were called to Two Rivers Recreational Area Sunday afternoon for reports of a man face down in the water.

Witnesses told an Action 3 News crew on scene that park visitors in the area tried to rescue the man and perform CPR until medics arrived. The 36 year-old was air lifted to the Nebraska Medical Center in critical condition.

Late Sunday afternoon, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office was measuring the depth of the water where the man was found.
