Next Millennium Remembers Jenn Siemens

By Emily Szink. CREATED Jun 10, 2013

Omaha, NE- We are learning more about a woman who died Saturday after a car crash Friday. Police say Jenn Siemens was in a car Jefferson Potter hit while driving a stolen truck.

KMTV Action 3 News reporter Emily Szink spoke with Siemens’ former boss.

"28 year old girl and touched an awful lot of people," said Charlie Odorizzi the owner of Next Millennium.

The outpouring of condolences left on the Next Millennium facebook page give insight into the infectious personality of Jenn Siemens.  She had worked at the store for more than six years.

"She was funny, she was giving, she was caring, she was just a fun person to be around is really the way to put it," said Odorizzi.

Store owner Charlie Odorizzi said Jenn was like a daughter to him and his wife Cindy.  They watched her blossom into the woman who store patrons and employees were so fond of.

"A Lot of people weren't too sure about her because she was so quiet, she didn't want to wait on customers, she'd try to hide.  I used to tell myself, I don’t know, there's something about this girl, there is something about this girl.  I don't know exactly what it is, but she'll be alright," said Odorizzi.

But Jenn quickly kicked the shyness.

"Brilliant, brilliant girl.  You could go to her and ask her about John Smith's order from two weeks ago and she would remember what the items were and what happened with it. What was the disposition," said Odorizzi.

Of course customers and employees of Next Millennium are mourning Jenn’s loss.  But, Charlie is trying to keep things upbeat.

"Far more funny stories to make us laugh than tears really.  That's the way Jen would've wanted it.  She was not one to sit around and cry," said Odorizzi.

Jenn’s vacant position can be filled, but Charlie says her personality and presence cannot.

"We'll find a shipping clerk.  There is no doubt about it; it's not the important thing.  It's hard to replace Jen.  That's what we've lost that we can't get back.  I can get another shipping clerk, we can't get Jen Back though."

Siemens’ boyfriend Ryan Ashburn was driving their vehicle at the time of the accident.  He sustained trauma to the head but has since been discharged from the hospital.
