Omaha, Ne - It's a emotional day for parents and students at Saint Stanislaus, as they partake in their last mass and final day of school.
Podkovich has three children who attend St. Stanislaus, for them moving on, isn't easy.
"It's actually like loosing a part of your family" said Julie Podkovich.
"I'm going to miss the teachers the most because they kept me educated and so i can be smart when i grow up " said Andrew Podkovich.
"I've been here since I've been in pre-school so i'm going to miss it a lot " said Nadia Podkovich.
As part of a consolidation plan for catholic schools and parishes in Omaha, St. Stanislaus along with Assumption-Guadalupe and Holy Ghost officially close its doors.
Fourth grade teacher, Kathleen Tims has only been at the school for a year, but as a military wife she knows how hard letting go can be.
"I don't want it to be somber for them. They said to me yesterday, I think I'm going to cry tomorrow and I said you probably will and that's okay, " said Tims.
In their final hours of school students released balloons with their prayers and wishes attached to a string.
