Cyclists Celebrate Bike-to-Work-Day with Free Bacon
Omaha, NE - Leave the car keys on the counter and grab your bicycle. Today is National Bike-to-Work Day. And don't worry about eating breakfast.
Just ride to the Trek Bicycle Store at the intersection of the Keystone Trail and Mercy Road in Aksarben Village for some free bacon!
The store is hosting a "bacon station" and free bike check-up from 7:00 - 10:00 a.m. Friday.
"While mechanics give your bike the once-over, our staff will be cooking and serving bacon to the commuters on the Keystone Trail," explained McNeill. "With bacon so popular in our culture now, we thought it would be fun to reward cyclists with some hot, fresh bacon on their way to work."
You can get free bacon, water, cookies and juice, plus a free bicycle checkup.
"Bicycle commuting is a fun and healthy alternative to driving," said Kent McNeill, owner of Trek Bicycle Stores. "Omaha is becoming a cycling community and we are seeing countless new people leaving their cars at home and taking the bike to work."
