7-year-old Attacked by Dogs; Owner of Dogs Cited

Elkhorn, NE- A 7-year-old is at home recovering after he was attacked by a neighbor's two Rottweiler dogs Tuesday night.
According to a police report, Gage Olson was attacked after he left his house trying to catch up to family members who were taking a walk.
The boy made it home where his father found him in the family's driveway where he collapsed and was bloody. His father then took him to a nearby hospital.
Gage has several injuries to his scalp and has a wound above his eye. He was treated and released from the hospital.
The Nebraska Humane Society's Mark Langan says the dogs went through the invisible fence surrounding their yard before the attack.
The owner of the dogs is Richard Willett, he was cited for Improper Restraint of a Dog, Dog Damaging Property, and Menacing Behavior. All are City of Omaha Chapter 6 ordinances relating to animal control, punishable by up to 6 months in jail and/or a $500 fine.
NHS will hold the dogs for a ten day quarantine to check for rabies. The dogs will then be euthanized based on this serious attack.
