Omaha, NE -- Thousands of people are expected in Omaha this weekend for the annual Berkshire Hathaway shareholders meeting.
On Thursday, Warren Buffet festivities got under way and will continue through the weekend.
"Just to enjoy the enthusiasm everyone has for the meeting," said shareholder Alexandra Ely, when asked why she comes back every year.
Some said the meeting is inspiring.
"He has become one of my heroes," said shareholder George Benz.
Others said it's just a fun place to be.
"I like to describe the shareholder meeting as a place where millionaires come to buy their underwear from a billionaire," said shareholder Phil Huffman. "They sell out of their Fruit of the Loom every year."
Shareholders started flying in from all across the country Thursday as Omaha simultaneously prepared.
"He's effusive, effervescent, lovely, charming," said Ely. "Who wouldn't want to be around him?"
Earlier on Thursday, Warren Buffet met with UNO business students. They'll watch his documentary Friday night.
The tents and heaters are up in front of Borsheims for the first official event of the weekend, which is a cocktail party on Friday.
Additional heating units have been brought in because of the chilly weather.
Brooks Brothers debuted its new Berkshire Hathaway running shoes.
It will give shareholders a chance to bring style to the meeting's first-ever 5K on Sunday morning at the CenturyLink.
All of this will be going on as the world of business takes a close look at Omaha this weekend.
"It gives you a lot of pride in the productivity of Americans and business people and the things that we accomplish," said Huffman.
The meeting kicks off on Friday night and will wrap up on Sunday night.
