Branstad Extends Flooding Relief to more Counties
CREATED Apr. 23, 2013
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - Gov. Terry Branstad has issued disaster proclamations for three eastern Iowa counties due to recent flooding.
Branstad issued the proclamation Tuesday for Iowa, Lee and Muscatine counties. Heavy rain and thunderstorms in eastern Iowa have caused limited flooding and property damage.
Branstad's action will qualify some families for grants paying for repairs, clothing, food and temporary housing.
Last week, Branstad issued proclamations for Cedar, Johnson, Mahaska, Scott, and Washington counties.
